A cool fact about Spirulina…It has the highest protein level of all green superfoods and also has naturally occurring omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids or healthy fats, including DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and GLA (gamma linolenic acid)—both of which are also found in breast milk.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats, almonds, coconut, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, spirulina, and salt. Add the honey and almond oil and mix well breaking up any clumps with a clean pair of hands.
  3. Divide the granola mixture onto two baking sheets and spread evenly. Bake for 20-24 minutes until lightly golden, stirring halfway and alternating the pans for even baking. Let the granola cool completely before storing in an airtight container(s) for 1-2 weeks.
